No Loveparade Berlin 2004

The Offical Press Release :-
"Berlin, April 14 2004
We are terribly sorry to announce that this year's Loveparade will not be celebrated. Due to a lack of financial resources - and only three months remaining to get this straight - there is no other way but to cancel Loveparade Berlin 2004.

Ever since the Loveparade lost its status as a demonstration in 2001, constant financial losses were the case. Until 2002, these losses were paid for with our own savings. The main reason for these losses were the high production costs, which resulted from its new status as a regular event. These additional costs added up to more than 900,000_.

The general business situation remaining over the last years has not only affected Loveparade itself, but also a great many of our partners (in the advertising, TV, and record industries), which added to our bad financial situation.

In 2003 it was the support of Messe Berlin who helped out with the necessary budget. Nevertheless, this year's conferences with the Berliner Senat and the Messegesellschaft did NOT end with a financial solution for the Loveparade even though we had tried to cut all possible costs.

Furthermore we thought about financing the event with tickets, but we eventually came up with the decision that this would be the wrong thing to do: It would turn the initial ideas of Loveparade as an "event open to anyone" upside down.

We are planning to meet in the near future in order to discuss our next steps and the conditions which could make future Loveparades possible."

Progressive Quality

In the last month, in the Australian Summer of 2004, Sydney has seen some quality progressive acts. We've had Luke Chable, Cass and Steve Porter.

Me being a little lazy recently I'm making this the wrap up post for all 3 events.

Luke Chable played at Susie's Q in Oxford Street, a venue I'd only checked out once before. The venue, is two rooms like the Dendy was, which was a great start to the night. I arrived midway through Crispin's set. The thing I've found, which I like and dislike is that the guys set things up perfectly for the main DJ, which means playing a dark and boring set. When they play peak time, with out a intl, they rock it out, but as warm up sets, I'm just not interested in them.

Chable came in on time and played a dark and moody set. Deep bass lines, delayed sounds, trippy highs, all with a nice little melody in there, that was over looked a lot of the time by most punters. Looking at his productions, we knew at some point we'd hit the breaks. Chable played from dark, through to melodic (PQM - While you are Sleeping [his remix], and Chable's Ride is the other song that comes to mind) and then on to some wicked tech-house/pro-tech/techno. Chable really had a hold of the dance floor.

The crowd was thining, as expected, but it didn't thin much. It was about this point he started playing breaks, with Traffik - Your light being my favourite moment of that section. After his set he played an encore track that he and Holden produced; Lactate State - Trance. An really nice track. The techy-ness of Holden, with the melodies and delays of Chable. This track will be huge!

Chable's set was quite different to what I remember of it from last year. It may of been the better system, but it seemed to have a lot more of a Holden influence, with the melodies and the techy highs.

Tracks:-
Sasha - Cloud Cuckoo (Luke Chable Mix)
Lemon 8 - New York New York
Holden and Thompson- Come to me
PQM - While you are sleeping (Luke Chable Vocal Pass)
Traffik - Your Light (Luke chable vocal mix)
Chable and Bonike - Ride

The second room, all though rather empty had a very nice 'fun' vibe.

Cass played at Susie's Q two weeks after Chable. Sweet Chilli is usually a once a month event, so it was always going to be interesting to see how many people would back up. I arrived after a bender of a night, so can't really remember too much, yet it seemed to be rather empty compaired to Chable. The sound of Cass was one I wasn't going to enjoy, moreso just one I went to confirm that I didn't like Cass' style. I left knowing almost none of the tracks, which was fine, but had a new found respect for the dark and ploddy.

Steve Porter played @ Liberty on Friday night. This was Nat's last party, with her life now taking another direction. I've got to say a HUGE thanx to Nat, not only have I had a ball @ every one of her parties, I've also learnt a lot personally and industry related from being around her. Once again, Steve Porter is a DJ who played the full vairety of progressive and tech house, leaving the warm up DJ's keeping things with full, funky and deep sounds. Steve's set was cut short, for some unknow reason, but the crowd seemed to love of it what they heard. Those who from the first 30 mins, stayed until after close and even waited outside, hoping he'd play at an after party for everyone.

Steve as a person was a really nice, relaxed and funny guy, and even if his music isn't to my exact liking, I'd see him again in a blink due to who he is. My photos for RA should be up soon.

Armin van Buuren - Armin Only @ Home

For weeks leading up to the event, I'd been sceptical to see the world's number 3 DJ. Having seen him @ HITEC, I know that he could bang out a tech-trance set to a foreign crowd if they weren't getting into it. With the set being @ sublime, I was worried he'd play to the usual crowd. Fast forward to the day of the event, I'd caved and got tickets.

I lined up in the massive lines about 2330, to be able to skip the line and went straight to the front, which was definatley putting me in a good mood to start the evening. Jumping Jack was playing some quailty uplifting trance tracks, which was mixed well and he was having a ball etc, but it was WAY too fast for the opening of a 5 hour set from an international. This made me moreso fear that Armin would play techy.

Armin, popped up out of seemingly nowhere, had a quick chat and got into it. He was, as always in a good mood and performing to the crowd, with a beaming smile. Behind him his girlfriend and brother were dancing about grooving along looking happy themselves.

Armin started with an unknown track but a track that took on from JJ's, not a clean start, and not what I wanted to hear. Ignoring that, and dancing away talking to people around me, sure enough Nathan Fake - Outhouse was played, still a top track. The crowd errupted for this, as it's simply huge. Not really enjoying many of the tracks after that, I went off and took some photos, where I managed to get VIP access so I spent a good hour on stage taking photos and videos, before having had enough.

I was too out of it to be hearing music I didn't like so I went back to work and relaxed for a bit. I got to the point of falling asleep when I realised that I'd kick myself for not going back. Struggling to physically make it back, I was greated with uplifting melodies. Armin had transformed and started all over again. He was playing his version of Motocycle - As the Rush comes.

From there in it was all hands in the air, the odd sing-a-long and tight mixing from Armin. The standout track would of had to Solar Stone - Seven Cities, once again, his remix. Simply amazing being around to hear that. That track alone was worth the entry fee.

It was also very interesting to note that Armin keys all his records; a concept I've been stuck in debates about for months, saying it's a good thing.

The set was recorded so it will be posted on the net soon.

Tracks Armin played:-

Mark Otten - Tranquility
Portishead - Roads (Sultan and the greek mix)
Re:locate - Waterfall
Kyau vs Albert - Velvet morning (Aalto remix)

2003 DJ Way Wrap up

A year ago today I got my turn tables. I can still remember the smell of the tables, the first records being placed on them. The first two tracks that were beat matched. figuring out how to beat match. The first 10 records purchased off juno; the critical moment. From there's it's been a rush of a year with me still mixing/averaging an hour a day on the wheels of steal.

It was always a dream to be good enough to get a gig under a year after I got my decks, but something I was working for regardless.

On New Years Eve 2004 I played my 1st billed club set :) I hit my target. This year the goal is to play out in front of more then 200 people, and get a paid set of any form or ammount. It won't be about the money but just the fact I'm ~worthy~ of money.

Armin @ HITEC Arena (HK) 13/Dec/03

After spending a VERY busy week around Asia, It was time for me to relax in HITEC Arena listening to my fav DJ and Producer, Armin van Buuren.

Little did I know HITEC Arena is hard to find! I took a cab there, well 5 actually, the other 4 couldn't find anything close to it. Once I was in the Hotel/Lobby center it was time to find where he was playing. I couldn't hear any music, but that wsa OK, I sort of wanted to get there before it opened as I didn't have a ticket. HUnting around and asking security and being told nothing due to the language issues, I finally found it by chance. Seeing it was still being setup I thoguht I may have a chance of buying a ticket and getting in. About then the police started setting up. I stayed on what I hoped was the inside giving me free entry. I realised I'd have to kill an hour, which I got to about 15 mins to go and thought bugger it and went up to the entrance. I just walked in with my camera and started taking photos pretending as if I was a photographer. Knowing what goes on locally at clubs, no 1 knows who's who, so I tried my luck. I hid out in the toilets for a while and came out and the place was PACKED with police. I played it cool, and stayed in....The advertised start time rolls around, and nothing happens. I race to the toilets again, hoping it'll start soon, as there's only so many photos you can take of an empty club. 1130, still no music. I'm packing it now, and pretend I

have diarerha to escape all the police eyes who weren't letting up and knew I didn't have a media pass, but let me around anyhow. 12pm, music starts, I walk out.....music stops....I'm farked as I'm just there, and there's no music and I'm still the only non police person in the venue. I race back to the toilets clutching my stomach.....5 mins later the music is constant and the lights are off; I race past the police and head into the crowd, never to be seen again for the evening. I stood @ the front for 6 hours; before and during Armin's set. I was wearing The Armada Tee Shirt, from his label, He recognised it and we had a little chat over the stage (just points and winks and stuff).

Looking around crowd, it appeared to be more so just an event for people to go to, not many people at all knew who armin was, most appeared to smacked to even move at all, regardless of track selection. Armin tried to coax them into moving by playing a very techy set, overall I felt, very different to the set he played in Zouk a mate told me. I did my best to ID the set, but tech isn't what I enjoy or know.

Armin appeared to be in good form stepping up on the stage an hour early for about 10 mins chatting. Off he went and back he came when his set started with a very familar intro track who's name has slipped me (and I'm over in Hong Kong with no music access) just getting into things. His first mix was on, and he wasn't sniffing so it appears he wasn't sick this time, so I could see a REAL Armin (coz last time I saw him he was sick, but still killed it).

HE was bouncing around and interacting with the crowd and the guys he was here with. He was playing tunes really well up until the 1.5 hour mark where he lost it for about 3 tracks, but I doubt any1 other then him or I heard it (I hear beats slipping VERY quickly). After that it was all back in form. Track after track, EQing after EQing, Armin was dishing it out, but only about 50 people really cared, really annoying. Armin was getting into it and those @ teh front were, so that's all that really matter :)

I got told Armin was playing from 2 till 5. 545 Armin finished played. That's what I like to see :) After a few screams for one more Push - Strange World was dropped whilst Armin signed stuff.

Tracklisting (it's in order, but missing A LOT! - 1 TA doesn't really do much ;( )

James Holden @ Gas

I've never liked the idea of raising a DJ to be something more then they are, which is just a person spinning vinyl. But I think I may have to make an acception to this rule; James Holden. James certianly owns the crown of King of the Pixies, which would puts him to the level of about demi-god.

Having heard quite of a few of his sets this year, after hearing his 2002 essential mix, I knew the man could mix, but he also has the odd off night. I was hoping like hell Friday was going to be one. His first mix confirmed this for me, with a weird track being played (don't know how to describe it) to confirm that Holden was on the decks and Gerrard's set was finished. After that Holden launched straight into it playing Petter - All Together. I was speech-less.

It was about this point I saw Grant holding some RCA cables in the air, later I found out he was showing GAS, Holden's managment and the crowd that indeed, he was not recording the set. The reason for this was James wanted to play a set with new tracks in it that he didn't want on the net yet. Turned out to be for the best.

A few tracks later, Nothing was played; the Accapella. After he'd played it, for a bit of fun, he played it backwards. That right there really sums up James, a bit of fun, awsomly tight, and truly amazing.

A track or two later, things were still going fairly stomping, I heard the highs of A Break in the Clouds. Sure enough it was mixed in, but it wasn't dropped till the middle of the track, about a 4 min mix. After He'd mix it in, he mixed back out of it, then back into it again as the breaks tool? (I'm not sure which version).

It was around this point James really started his journey, playing some stuff that wasn't ambient, but just had really long melodies and seemed to be rather boring to a lot of the crowd. I was enjoying it, knowing it was a huge journey being setup. Having previously read about where James is taking Border Community, I've got a few hunches that those tracks will be coming out on Border Community.

About an hour left in his set and the speed of the tracks picked up and the Intensity went into high gear. By this point I was sitting behind James, just enjoying watching what he was doing. The whole time he had this 'cute' smile/look on his face, he loved it :) Steve Gerrard was hanging around up there as well playing with James was funny to watch the two of them, if they hadn't already bonded, bonding ;)

I knew James was a master of building sets, his whole set I was trying to pick what track it'd be and when he'd drop it. with about 45 mins left in the set I knew this was the time and the track was JFOS - Do What You Want (Infusion Mix). From there it was bomb after bomb, long key mix after long key mix, with samples and just amazing mixes generally. At least once whilst I watched him he sampled in a beat 4 times of a CDR and then belted the mix in over the next phrase, but it seemed so perfect, so in place. Another track he did his weird DJ thing to was Nathan Fake - Outhouse. This track is one of my favourite on Balance 005(as is every track, LOL!). He mixed into it playing the fluffy version, before playing the main mix.

For James' encore/final tracks (he played 7 mins over time), he layered Nathan Fake - Outhouse (fluffy mix), for it's 2nd play over Accadia - Into the Dawn (James Holden Remix), a magical way to end the night.

It was about this point I was getting ready to get my vinyl signed, which James happily signed, he signed all 7 of my tracks, as well as everyone else's Arms and posters. Then he just hung around with Steve. A bit later on I went up and had a lil chat about Border Community, Buzz Machine, some of his sets, and before I left called him a freak :) He was quite happy to just hang around and talk, respected that a lot. Steve was STILL drinking and going crazy, major respect to that too :)

I Won!

I just won a comp on FBi Radio. Got 2 free tickets to James Holden @ Sweet Chilli next friday and also won a promo copy of his Balance 005 CD. Easily the best CD I've heard this year.

Yay for my flukey timing. 4-10 seconds after putting FBi on I was on the phone claiming my prize. Something I pre-empted happening 2 weeks ago.

Liberty

Friday night was the 3rd (?) installment of progressive beats in the back room. The line up was Matt Aubusson, Simon Bell, Young Jase, Crispin and Scott Oliver.

The thing I love about clubbing, and nights like Liberty, I get a chance to hear more DJ's that I haven't heard of before. It's always a bit of a risk, but the line up has always been solid.

Matt came up with some more blippy bloppy/electro Prog, a very friendly way to get into the night. Up after that Simon unpacked his laptop and used final scratch for most of his set. I was pulled up a chair, as the style was not to my liking, but mostly due to the fact I didn't have any energy, but was still kean to hear something new. As always his mixing was "toight as a tiger". Enjoyed hearing Activator and Nobody listens to techno.

Young Jace was playing his first set back from melbourne, having moved down there for a year and a change of scenery. Opening up with a Break in the clouds (Yes, I STILL LOVE this track), I thought things may go trancey. Alas that didn't last for long, with Jace taking things to a vocally house, to a weird sort of style, that moved up a notch then back...Very teasing for prime time. Very good technically, and would love to hear what other people thing of him. Being as sick as I am, I actually fell asleep in his set, whoops :P

Crispin bounced up @ about 2am layering some REALLY nice tracks, and really nice progression. I was too out of it to do much more then smile and node, but enjoyed what I heard. Scotty O came on playing a few tracks before LIberty closed, but as his reputation builds, his ability just keeps matching it. Track wise, he was on a more trancey house tip, if there is such a thing, but layered his mixes 4 about 5 mins at a time. Watch this man. He has a massive future! (not saying anything less on anyone else, just the standout dj of the night)

Last weekend

Even though this weekend is only 23 hours and 9 mins away, I'm yet to update last week. I'm still waiting for Vinyl Warning to update their stock so, It's time to post.

Last friday was Halcyon:Freeze. The club was decked out with white/bright lights and some dry ice coming out of a pipe to make the decks/stage look frozen. The decks themselves were placed in a makeshift iglu, this set the night's theme. Music was Morro kicked things off beautifully with some prog trance, starting with A Break in the Clouds, and got to tracks like, Attention Deficit - Use only the Drugs and Depeche Mode - Only when I loose myself. Amazing set.

The end of his set was working to trance, which is where Diggs jumped up and moved things along the vocal/warm up trance wonderfully. Track of Diggs' set was Faithless - We Come One (Diggs Mash Up). Stama came on peak time and played a vocalised set of PTM. Not my style but went down well with the crowd, but left them a bit lacking at the end energy wise(That's debatable!). Liquid M then jumped on and banged it out as tough as they do, but still remaining trance. Tracks included Flight 643, System F - Exhale, and Liquid M - Dream Machine (Marlo Remix).

A few hours after that ended, I was up again for Jindabyne for Blizzard. We got down there @ 9pm, set up relaxed, heard a few sets, grabbed a feed, and came back to play. I danced for 45 mins trying to get into it, but just couldnt' find the energy and support from the crowd to rock. THe crowd was all buggered from skiing or was either smacked or drunk. A few standouts really enjoyed it, and ended up talking 2 the guys after the show; they always impress some 1 ;). Packed up went to bed with some weird dancer in our room, who was fun to talk to, as she was still gurning :)

And that wraps up another clubbing weekend. This weekend has Liberty and more.

Halcyon:Space Invaders

Upon walking through the door, I knew we were in for a treat. Some blipy bloopy sifi music was playing and a few lazers were blinking. We were entering the space station Halcyon. This was the destination for the night.

Rushing straight into play with the Space Invaders game I set the high score(which would of lasted 5 mins), before being asked to make sure no one went up to Bohem. Down in the trance room some theme songs of space/spooky events was playing, with The X-Files and Red Dwarf being my fav (and only two I could pick).

Mangler graced the decks with some dancers escorting him to the decks. They then danced to his first few tracks. Once Mangler was in the swing of things it was time for me to go up and hear some breaks. Having over the last few months of Halcyon becoming more a fan, it was my duty to make sure the standard was at a level I liked. Lish was killing it. I stayed up there for a few tracks and a bit of a chat, but felt drawn back to the trance.

Upon going back down Diggs and Morro were getting ready to play their first track. I stayed down for what was about 3-4 tracks before heading back up to Bohem to catch Canberra's Finest Exports; Jeff Drake & Mikah Freeman.

I once again, had NO idea they would be that good. I stayed up and watched them for the best bit of 20 mins, and spent the next 30-40 mins just listening. Track of the set (that I heard) was 21st Century Fux - Sunspirit (? remix) and For an Angel (? remix). Watching the guys was something to see. With two mixers, and 4 dex(1 of which was a CDJ) going at it, it was just amazing to see how they worked it. They were throwing sounds everywhere, dropping in vocals over break downs and creating their own break down, all with a very break beat prog feel. They are the closest I've heard to the big man James Zabiela, and they actually reminded me of him ;) The set was recorded so I can't wait to hear it again.

Heading back down stairs I caught the end of Diggs and Morro's set with tracks such as Midway - Monkey Forest (even tho I was sure it was Inca that got played) and Lost Lynx - 3 Seasons being played.

Next up to the decks was Steve van Strangis. He walked up with the Death March playing and a cloak around him, like the true master he is. His set was mixed as tight as I knew he would mix, with me dancing for a few tracks such as PvD - Nothing but you, System F - Solstice, AvB - Yet Another Dub. I'd used up all my energy and went up stairs to the little room in the corner, which turned out to be like a ITM room was crazy. Spent my time chilling up there with all the guys and girls, and also track spotting. Between Spang (I don't know how!), Nismo, TranceTasman, Ton-E and myself we nailed them all :) Delirum - Silence was the track of the night whilst I was up stairs, with Alibi - Eternity (NU NRG remix [think]) being a close second.

Liquid M then stepped up to the next to bang out the pace and bring things to a close. Starting off with one of Marlo's own productions, the guys played on the edge that they always do, hard-er melodic trance. Goldscan - Sunrise, Liquid M - Sound of Arena, Liquid M - Dreammachine were my highlights of my set. After they finished they placed on an encore track. From the very 1st phrase I new the track, Chakra - Love Shines Through. Everyone there was singing the track was a great way to finish.

Other random moments of the night worth commenting on is/are:-
The asian woman dancing REALLY crazily, and MAN she was good!

And Susan giving me a massage whist I was trying to play Astrorids. Man I was SO close to beating the high score. Even tho I didn't look distracted, I was :P

Altitude Productions presents Alt.Relaunch

Last night marked the re-launch of the finest trance night Sydney has seen;Altitude.

I walked up to Gas after work, and arrived about 2030. When I arrived, things were slowly, but confidently coming together...Liquid M setup the DJ's were learing the mixer, and the girls were dressing and decking out up stairs. Brad from Gas was working away setting the stage/lights and sound up.

Liquid M sound check time and there was problems..Oh Boy......The next hour Flew by as they were checking. Basment D and myself decided to start tidying up around Gas and decked it out..Got dressed after that, with about 10 mins to spare.

The doors opened up stairs for people to come down stairs and the alititude hosties and myself handed out lollies(inflight entertainment) to everyone on the way through.

There was a very special entrance track being played that said welcome to alititude and had a bootleg of sasha's xpander and cow girl, the night begun wonderfully. Simon and Lee played a back to back melodic/prog set that was really nice to dance to. Most people were there for faster stuff, but prog and myself go well :)

After they finished Diggs and Morro stepped up. A MASSIVE welcome track was played that was made by Liquid M saying Diggs and Morro, welcome to ALTITUDE and a massive confette thing burst shooting altitude colours in the room and an EPIC track, Armin van Buuren - Communication. From there the night just went even higher.....I had a bit of a boggie, to a few snap then headed up to Bohem for a dance to Gadget, and a chat to the lovely door gals and gave my hat to Alex.

Went back down just before Liquid M started, and took a few more snaps before settling in for the treat that is Liquid M....Before I knew it I'd had a quick dance with the 4 groups of ppl I knew there, and it was all over. Ton-e then stepped up to the dex for some really nice uplifting trance....I got dragged outside by a certain someone....

Mike walked across the road, and I fleed into his protective company. Wondered back into the club @ the end of his set and chilled in the top of the bottom level. Stama rocked up and did his thing, with only one off mix I heard, which was corrected rather quickly......He certianly worked some magic. Ton-e played a good set and the crowd just exploaded when Carte Blanche was played....The dance floor looked prime time again, not a easy feat.....

I was hungry and thirsty and went and got some food...Came back to heard Nu NRG - Butterfly being played by Cameron with the place STILL going off...This was the closing DJ playing to a room that had more people then some bad club nights in prime time. The great sound and amazing lights and lazers slowly turned off as the last track ended. There was lots of clapping and calls for an encore, but sadly they were already over time. Marlo said a quick thankyou and that was the night.

Got home @ 8am.....a Wonderful night. Photos can be found on ITM and here

Tracks of the night:-
Sasha - Cowpander (Simon Sez Bootleg)
Darren Tate & Jono Grant - Let the light shine in
Circ - Destroy she said
PvD - Nothing but you

5am @ r00m MLB

Brothers and Sisters; Liquid M + 1 Roadie (IE ME) have FINALLY MADE IT HOME.....I'm no promo guy for them, so I will not comment for them, but yeah my night

Started off @ Spy bar early in the morning, and was impressed by the venue and the DJ.....I was dead as from a REALLY REALLY long drive the night before and no sleep to enter the club just before the massive break down in 3rd earth...Man Steve, you REALLY know how to get it going @ what 10am??? From then in the day was breeze to get through (even tho I STILL haven't found my sunnies yet WTF!)...Mangler played a top uplifting/vocal mix with Oceanlab Sky Falls down, being my fav track from his set (orignal mix tho, i'm a AvB fan). From there it gets all hazy, but was generally impressed with Charlie Z (who played a NEW version [whitelabel/bootleg?] of Nothing but you, Miss Mel and Zac....

After we packed up and headed back to the hotel 2 eat, I decided to explore and ended back late @ the hotel then late 2 r00m, but still had time 2 setup before it opened.

Wow what a night! The venue is tops. I spent quite a while before Liquid M spinning about just listening 2 the quality of the speakers, lol, and the way the lights were layed-out/positioned AND their movment (sequences i think they are?). Unfortunatley, my brain (well now anyhow) is dead from the lack of sleep, so I can't comment much on the night, cept some TIGHT mixes all night, with my highlight being pulser - cloudwalking.

Low point was getting searched by security @ the door 2 the toilet to see if i was a heroin junky for a few mins.

Hybrid Junkie I can work something out for you if u want a CD. PM me if u want me 2 do the very little leg work to get you a cd.

Youngy Lol, they weren't really into it as the table was shaking too much. Seriously, these guys normally jump off the ground, they were restrained as the table I was holding wasn't too strong. It's funny though, they still were REALLY into it and REALLY wanted to get more into it, but could see the table couldn't take their energy

TA's I remember meeting were the DJ's and Miss Vandit. As I posted on ITM I got some fotos during the night (Julian/Mangler/reemo + a few club shots) but not enough for a gallery, lmk if u want a link to my private gallery.

All in all 10+1 out of 10

Hopefully c u all soon,

Liberty 2

Friday night was spent grooving to the sounds of Sydney's new night Liberty @ The Dendy.

I arrived early to the sounds of Agent 42 busting out some really nice breaks. I had a very quick sample as Ruckas walked in the door and I had to go and do the lights next door.

I figured the lights out well enough, and decided to leave it on a pre program and went and spoke to people who I knew who'd rocked up for some nice prog that was being layed down.

Fast forward to Diggs and Morro and the floor became packed. It's really weird how much people don't dance/like prog. Hopefully the next Liberty will show the real prog scene to me. I jumped up and started doing the lights and had a blast playing around up there beside the boys who also dropped a track or 2 to please me.

They finished up and Jamie aka DJ Shorty and he busted out a very different styled of trance set. With Shorty being a turntabilist, playing trance gives him a different style 2 a nice sound. He work on LaLa Land into Punk is bootleg worthy :)

After shorty stepped up Juggalo Muli for his FIRST EVER set out. Man I was nervous for him, but was really hoping it'd go well. Having heard him play @ mine I assumed 1 stuff up was on the way. Not only did he keep his cool, he played and owned the crowd.

Packed up and in bed by 0730 after a little breaky and a rather enjoyable night.

Can't wait for the next 1 :)
